What Is CBD Oil?

CBD oil, otherwise called a tincture, contains the hemp compound known as cannabidiol. People around the world use cannabidiol for supporting general health and well-being. More generally, however, it can provide a sense of overall balance within the body throughout the days and nights.

Our tinctures come in different sizes and doses so that you can choose the concentration right for you. Our products are available in 500-3,000mg of CBD in 10 and 30 ml options.

CBD Stands for Cannabidiol

Cannabidiol, the main compound found in our CBD oil, is a cannabinoid. This means that it's one of the active ingredients in cannabis and hemp plants, along with other cannabinoids you may have heard of such as:

  • CBN
  • THC
  • CBC
  • CBG

The scientific community has discovered over 100 cannabinoids. Today, THC, or tetrahydrocannabinol, and CBD, or cannabidiol, are the two best-researched compounds.

Cannabidiol Is Derived from Hemp

All of our CBD oil is sourced from hemp, as are our vape e-liquids and topical creams. Though these compounds exist in cannabis, the psychoactive form of the plant that is illegal or restricted in most parts of the world, cannabidiol is almost always sourced from hemp.

By contrast, hemp's legal status and chemical composition are very different. The cultivation and sale of low-THC hemp crops are legal across Europe and much of the world.

According to the European Court of Justice, hemp farming cannot be controlled by individual states, either.

Will CBD Hemp Oil Produce Psychoactive Effects?

No, CBD hemp oil will not produce psychoactive effects or contribute to the feeling of being 'high'. Our cannabidiol is exclusively only sourced from Swiss-farmed hemp. This means that it contains a maximum of 0.2 percent THC. Such trace amounts cannot produce psychoactive effects.

Keep in mind that cannabidiol functions very differently from THC. Though they're both cannabinoids, they interact with the human body in ways to produce completely opposite effects. More on the biology behind cannabidiol later.

Understanding CBD Oil Benefits

Different from THC, cannabidiol contains many benefits of its own. Most people choose to make CBD oil a part of their daily routine because it provides a sense of balance. This can mean many different things. For some people, it supports sleep; For others, it supports comfort or relaxation.

According to the European Food Safety Authority, cannabidiol is a 'novel food'. This means that it must be approved before it reaches the European market. In other words, CBD research is still in its early stages.

The Difference Between Full Spectrum and Isolate

There are several methods of extracting cannabidiol, among them: full spectrum and isolate. For some, understanding how these methods of extraction differ is key to finding the best CBD oil for their needs.

What Is CBD Oil Isolate?

As its name would suggest, isolate contains 99 percent cannabidiol. All other plant matter is removed in this process, creating a final product with zero percent THC. It also does not contain other terpenes and cannabinoids.

What Are Full Spectrum Tinctures?

By contrast, full-spectrum CBD oil contains other cannabinoids, terpenes, and oils, though cannabidiol remains the active ingredient. This means that it does contain trace amounts of THC, though always less than 0.2 percent. Keep in mind that this is not enough THC to produce any sort of psychoactive effect or high.

Choosing Between Isolate and Full Spectrum

Both types of cannabidiol have their own advantages. On one hand, isolate is a purer form of CBD hemp oil that may be best for those concerned about the effects of other cannabinoids. It is especially suitable for those who solely want to benefit from cannabidiol.

On the other hand, not only do the other compounds in full-spectrum hemp tinctures yield benefits of their own, but they could potentially amplify cannabidiol's effectiveness.

No matter the extraction method you choose, the main active ingredient is CBD. Ultimately, isolate and full spectrum may share the same benefits.

How Tinctures Work Within the Human Body

How does cannabidiol work within the body and how does it differ from THC? Both compounds interact with the endocannabinoid system, a network within the human body responsible for a number of critical biological functions. The Endocannabinoid System is generally responsible for maintaining homeostasis, meaning a sense of balance within the body as it interacts with external elements.

It's as crucial to the body's health as other major biological systems such as the nervous system, circulatory system, and others. However, the endocannabinoid system is the least understood--and researched--out of all of the human body's systems.

Cannabinoids and the Endocannabinoid System

As its name would suggest, the endocannabinoid system was discovered when scientists were researching how THC interacts within the human body.

They uncovered that not only does the human body have cannabinoid receptors to which cannabinoids can bind, but it also produces its own cannabinoids. These are called endocannabinoids, "endo" meaning internal.

Through interaction with these processes, CBD can support well-being and, more generally, help maintain homeostasis.

How to Take CBD Oil

Place a droplet of the tincture under your tongue and hold it there for approximately 1-2 minutes. This process, also called sublingual administration, allows the cannabidiol to easily enter the bloodstream.

Instead of having cannabidiol pass through your digestive system, it's absorbed straight into the body through the capillaries under the tongue and in the mouth.

4 Steps for Choosing the Best CBD Oil

The only way to experience CBD oil benefits is to choose a high-quality product. These four factors set the best CBD oil apart from the rest:

1.Know Where It Comes From

Hemp is often imported. In 2018, China was the world's largest hemp producer. The best way to ensure tincture quality is to choose a product subject to European agriculture regulations.

We set out to source the highest quality hemp across Europe. After conducting extensive research, we decided to produce our line of CBD oils from plants grown in Switzerland, where growing conditions are ideal.

2.Consider Ingredients Beside Cannabidiol

If you're making cannabidiol a part of your daily routine, you want to make sure that you aren't ingesting unwanted additives without knowing it. All of our products are vegan and gluten-free.

3.Look for Third-Party Lab Testing

The only way to know how much cannabidiol a product contains is to look for third-party lab testing results. These ensure that the amount of CBD announced on the label is actually in the product and that it doesn't contain unwanted amounts of THC.

Our line of CBD oil products contains less than 0.2 percent THC so it cannot produce any psychoactive effects.

4.Make Sure It's Organic

Like any crop, hemp can be farmed with pesticides and insecticides that can negatively affect your health. All of our products are certified organic, meaning that they are subject to strict European organic standards.

Per E.U. regulations the hemp we source is farmed using environmentally-friendly growing practices, all while maintaining soil and water quality.

Finding the CBD Oil That's Right for You

For many people around the world, CBD oil represents an easy and all-natural way to support comfort and relaxation at home, at work or while exercising. The best way to experience these effects is to understand how cannabidiol works, how to dose it, and what to look for when choosing a high-quality product.
